Subway tickets to have time limits

A subway ticket will expire after a specified time limit under new transportation rules, according to the Beijing Transport Commission, Beijing News reported on Friday. The cost of initial subway entry will be raised on Dec 28, with additional charges based on distance traveled. Officials say reasonable time limits will be set for trips within Beijing's 88-kilometer subway network, the report said. Other major cities, including Shanghai, Shenyang and Hangzhou, have set up similar time limits for their subways.
