KG PER HECTARE is China's new barley output record, the Qinghai Provincial Academy of Agriculture told Xinhua News Agency on Friday. The hybrid variety Kunlun 14 produced the record harvest during a trial planting in Haiyan county in the province. The crop beat the former record holder, Chaiqing 1, with an 11.89 percent larger yield.
