Policies of top 300 firms still at the starting stage
The corporate social responsibility policies of China's top 300 firms are still in the initial stage despite some improvements last year, according to a report by the CSR Research Center under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The report, which evaluates the CSR accomplishments of different sectors and industries in 2013, revealed that nearly 80 percent of the country's top 300 enterprises scored under 60 and half received just a one-star grade. Among the 14 targeted industries, power suppliers and telecommunications ranked the highest with a four-star grade.
