Blaze at food packaging factory kills 18 people

Eighteen people died after a food packaging factory caught fire on Sunday evening in Shandong province, local authorities said on Monday. The fire broke out at Longyuan Food Co's carrot packaging workshop in Shouguang. It took firefighters three hours to bring the blaze under control. Thirteen people are being treated for injuries, two of whom were seriously injured. Investigations show that 140 people were in the building when the fire occurred.
