Foshan, the hometown of Wong Fei-hung (1847-1924) and Bruce Lee (1940-1973), is a pilgrimage site for the world's fans of kung fu. But the city with a history of about 5,000 years has much more to offer lovers of traditional Chinese culture and art. It also boasts well-preserved architecture from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and a long list of State-level intangible cultural heritage items such as the lion dance, paper-cutting and Shiwan pottery.
The Foshan Tourism Bureau has selected some of the city's most popular destinations among foreign visitors for a two-day trip to take in the city's essence.
