Court lifts biased ban

The 60-year-old practice couldn't continue 'even for a day', said the judge who ruled in favor of women. Associated Press reports in New Delhi.

India's Supreme Court on Monday ordered the lifting of a ban on women working as makeup artists in the movie industry, ending a decades-long discriminatory practice.

The country's movie industry is among the most prolific in the world with nearly 1,500 films produced annually, most of them from Bollywood, as the Hindi movie industry in Mumbai city is called.
