Green light for land reform proposals soon
The Ministry of Land and Resources has completed work on a general land reform program and submitted it to top officials for approval, China Securities Journal reported on Tuesday. The final approval for the proposal is expected later this year during the Central Conference on Rural Work and the pilot program would commence in 2015, said the newspaper, quoting an unidentified source. The impending land reform, which fundamentally aims at developing modern agriculture and guaranteeing farmers' interests, will give greater property rights to farmers by allowing circulation of rural land management rights. Concentrated use of rural land and commercial use of rural land will be two key points of this round of land reform, experts said.
