Carnival displays allure of Dapeng new district

The Dapeng new district in east Shenzhen, a booming area bordering Hong Kong, has become a popular destination for tourists.

Efforts to boost seashore tourism, the ecology and new strategic industries will help drive the district's future growth, said local officials.

The district recorded about 655,200 visits during the National Day holiday this year, up 22 percent from the year previous, according to the economic services department for the area.
