'Gift money' used for charity

Three students have set up a charity fund using 500,000 yuan ($81,770) they received as "gift money "during holidays, especially Lunar New Year, Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday. The fund is to help impoverished and disadvantaged students. Wei Congtai, 14, donated 250,000 yuan to the fund and became the youngest director of a special philanthropic fund in Shanghai. His younger brother, Wei Qitai, a primary school student, donated 200,000 yuan, while one of his schoolmates also donated 50,000 yuan.
