Persons with disabilities and their organizations must be part of shaping the post-2015 development agenda, and they must be an integral part of the implementation and accountability mechanisms. The International Disabilities Alliance looks forward to growing engagement with Chinese disabled people's organizations in the international arena.

The fact that this event is being held on the sidelines of the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting cannot be overlooked or underestimated. We hope that it will not just help integrate disability issues in the APEC agenda but also help catalyze the inclusion of disability in the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda.
