Mutual benefits: Sino-Chilean ties

Industrial structure of the two countries is complementary

Chile hopes to expand its trade and cooperation with China based on high-level mutual political trust, complementary economies and sustainable development in the strategic partnership, the country's ambassador to China told Xinhua News Agency.

Jorge Heine said Chile created many firsts in its relationship with China. In 1970, Chile was the first country in South America to establish formal diplomatic relations with China and was the first to recognize China's market economy status in 2004.
