Major topics to be discussed at the APEC CEO Summit

Discussions at the APEC CEO Summit will focus not only trade liberalization, but also on facilitating economic integration with creative ideas, methods and actual actions, such as building frameworks for regulatory cooperation and investment in infrastructure. The following nine topics are on the agenda:

Global multilateral trade system

All APEC members are keen to form a strategic partnership to promote a diversified trade model that will also benefit countries in other parts of the world. APEC economies recognize the need for an influential multilateral trading system to safeguard the expansion of trade, which serves as a driver of economic growth, job creation and sustainable development. They remain committed therefore to strengthening the rules-based, transparent, non-discriminatory, open, and inclusive multilateral trading system as enshrined in the principles and values of the WTO.
