Tree technician nurtures green belt for summit

By Zheng Jinran | China Daily | Updated: 2014-11-06 07:56

Planting trees may seem as easy as digging holes, transplanting then watering saplings, but when almost 1,000 hectares of land is being forested, the process is not so simple.

Wang Chunlei knows this well, having witnessed more than 933 hectares of new forest being planted over the past three years.

The land is green areas in Beijing's Huairou district that have been added since 2012 to protect the environment and improve the landscape around Yanqi Lake, the scenic spot that will host the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on Tuesday.
