Shengzhou's pillar industry prepares for expo

Shengzhou is gaining popularity as it prepares for a large motor and kitchenware expo to be held in the city in East China's Zhejiang province from Nov 5 through 7.

The city is one of the major producers of electronic motors in China and was named China's production base of low-power motors by the China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association in 2008.

It currently has more than 1,000 motor manufacturers, whose products can be divided into 100 series and over 1,000 kinds, such as motors used in washing machines, cooker hoods and fans.
