Revitalized route to bring business opportunities

Chinese companies have shown growing interest in the potential market along the ancient Maritime Silk Road, according to an international expo organizer.

Liu Xiaojie, deputy director of the organizing committee of the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo, said up to 90 percent of Chinese exhibitors at the event planned to tap markets along the ancient route after they received positive feedback at the expo.

The three-day event, which was held in Dongguan, a major manufacturing and trade city in the Pearl River Delta, attracted 1,015 domestic and overseas companies.
