Trade and transport efforts ramped up by powerhouse
Guangdong province, an economic powerhouse in South China, plans to boost efforts to develop a fast and efficient transport network to improve connections and cooperation with countries and regions along the ancient Maritime Silk Road, a senior Party official said.
Hu Chunhua, Party chief of Guangdong, said the province would accelerate construction of a sea-land-air network, which will play a significant role in boosting trade, economic and cultural links between Guangdong and Southeast Asia.
During a three-day international expo on promoting cooperation between China and countries and regions along the ancient maritime trade route, a number of agreements were signed to facilitate transportation development, according to the expo's organizers.
