The Pearl River Delta city of Dongguan is gearing up to develop cross-border e-commerce as it tries to forge closer trade ties with countries along the Maritime Silk Road.

As an important part of the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo, the city sponsored a cross-border business online to offline (O2O) trade show.

More than 3,000 professional buyers visited the show and 1,547 online deals worth more than 50 million yuan ($8.18 million) were inked during the three-day event.
