Deals enhance new Sino-Qatari ties

President Xi, Sheikh Tamim sign agreements covering economies, education and culture

The new strategic partners of China and Qatar didn't waste any time upgrading their cooperation with six agreements on Monday.

Shortly after a meeting between President Xi Jinping and visiting Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, the two countries sealed the agreements, which include promotion of the Silk Road Economic Belt and a 21st-century Maritime Silk Road, as well as financing, education, sports and culture.
