Artistry apparent in Ningbo hotel
Wandering around the Langham Place hotel in Ningbo feels a lot like visiting an art gallery. Artworks, mostly installation art and paintings, are displayed throughout the site. Telling stories of one of China's oldest and most vibrant cities in abstract and surreal ways, the artworks lend a mysterious beauty to the "modern and luxurious" brand concept of Langham.
Ningbo, an economically robust city in Zhejiang province, has a history that dates back 7,000 years. The hotel is linked to the Ningbo Culture Plaza, where entertainment facilities including a museum, gallery and theaters are located.
"This beautiful hotel marks our eighth in the country and the 21st worldwide for the Langham Hospitality Group," said Lo Young, Langham Hospitality Group's regional vice-president for the Chinese Mainland, Macau and Taiwan. "With Ningbo one of the fastest-developing cities in China, the North Asian region continues to be an important market in our development strategy in 2014 and beyond."
