China's top corruption watchdog said on Thursday that the former general manager of Sinosteel Iron and Steel Corp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinosteel Corp, has been put under investigation.

Xin Xile, the former head of the subsidiary, was being probed for "serious breaches of discipline", according to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Xin, born in 1963, was the general manager of the steel unit of the China Minmetals Group, a State-owned metals and minerals trading company, before he went to Sinosteel.
