"Everyone in society should establish and increase legal awareness, whether they are judges, police or residents. When a verdict is effective, litigants should abide by it and carry it out. ... I approve that courts' presidents are required to hear cases instead of only handling administrative affairs, which to my mind is necessary and will help them know more about hot legal issues. Although the disputes and pressures that I should deal with and shoulder are still growing, I'm glad to see that more people can understand us."

Liu Li, judge of Olympic village court affiliated with Beijing Chaoyang District People's Court

"I notice that the document requires prosecutors to enforce procuratorial power independently and makes clear that the prosecuting authority can make public interest appeals, such as on environmental pollution. Such a requirement and work will help people understand the role of prosecutors. During the crackdowns against graft over the past year, my department also has assisted disciplinary authorities with much of the inquiry and investigative work. Although it gave us more pressure, it reflected the rule of law and enlightened me to devote myself to this meaningful job."
