NDRC clears infrastructure projects worth $24.5b
The National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, approved a slew of infrastructure projects valued at 150 billion yuan ($24.5 billion) on Wednesday in a bid to improve regional transport facilities and accelerate local economic development. The projects included construction of three railway lines in the country's central and western region with a total investment of 144.5 billion yuan. The NDRC also approved feasibility reports of construction of five civil airports in cities of the country's remote provinces and autonomous regions including Jilin, Qinghai, Yunnan, and Guizhou provinces and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
