Aid for Africa

China Daily | Updated: 2014-10-22 07:48

China is working on a plan for a new round of aid to help African countries fight Ebola, and will provide as much help as it can to the United Nations' trust fund for the epidemic, said Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday.

Li made the remarks when talking on the phone with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, exchanging ideas regarding coping with the epidemic.

The international community must enhance coordination and cooperation to fight the disease, Li said, adding that the most imperative issues that need to be addressed are providing more aid, including financial support and medical workers, to regions hit by the epidemic, and helping the public build up confidence in overcoming the disease.
