A total of 58,789 centenarians are living in China, and the oldest is 128 years old, the Gerontological Society of China said on Tuesday. Three-quarters of the centenarians are women, and most of them reside in rural areas, the society said. The provinces of Hainan and Anhui and the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, where the environment is good and the economy is "moderately developed", have the most centenarians.
