Amid fear, west africans in the US try to help
Across the United States, West African communities are struggling with ways to help far-off family and friends deal with the Ebola outbreak.
They are praying, collecting donations and buying medical supplies. But at the same time, they are afraid what those same loved ones could bring to their doorsteps.
Some West Africans in the US say they would be too scared to take someone from the Ebola-stricken region into their homes. Or too afraid to give a ride to a person who had just arrived from West Africa.
Said one community leader in Rhode Island: "I'm a caring, loving person. All Liberians are. But I can't take that chance."
