Political adviser sentenced to 15 years for accepting bribes

A senior political adviser from the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Monday for accepting bribes, and his personal property worth 2 million yuan ($320,000) was confiscated.
Li Daqiu, 61, who held a vice-minister level post, was deprived of political rights for four years, the Intermediate People's Court of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin province announced.
Li is a native of Guangxi and a former vice-chairman of the Guangxi Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
