Doctor: Student stabbed 55 times
A Chinese student who was murdered in Canada in May 2012 was stabbed 55 times and then dismembered, a forensic pathologist told a Montreal court on Thursday. Canadian Luka Magnotta, 32, has admitted to killing and dismembering Chinese student Jun Lin, videotaping the acts and mailing parts of his body to elementary schools and two political parties. He is pleading not guilty due to mental illness.

Google ordered to delete data
A Japanese court has ordered Google to delete search results linking the claimant to a crime he did not commit, the latest in a series of rulings around the world on what search engines should tell users. The Tokyo District Court this week placed a provisional order that Google delete about half of 237 entries that appear after the plaintiff's name is entered, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper and other local media reported.
Tanzania
Witchcraft suspects burned
Seven people accused of witchcraft have been burned alive in Tanzania, police said on Friday, adding they have arrested 23 people in connection with the crimes. "They were attacked and burned to death by a mob of villagers who accused them of engaging in witchcraft," said Jafari Mohamed, police chief for the western Kigoma region, which borders Burundi, adding that five of those killed were more than 60 years old, and the other two were over 40.

10 years given for shooting teen
A French bricklayer who shot dead a 15-year-old thief from a window in his house was sentenced to 10 years behind bars on Friday for unlawful use of deadly force. Jean Gabro, 59, opened fire on Antoine Rodriguez as the teenager was running away after stealing a computer from a nearby shop in the southern French city of Marseille. The incident took place on May 2, 2011.

Moon probe 'core' mission
Russia is making moon exploration the core of its space program for the next decade, Federal Space Agency Roscosmos said on Friday. "This year, Roscosmos has prepared a long-term program of deep space exploration, with exploration of the moon as the core," agency official Yuri Makarov said. According to the Roscosmos website, the new program also is aimed at exploring other planets in the solar system.
