Premier Li Keqiang will receive "something unique" in Berlin during his three-day visit to Germany starting on Thursday, German Ambassador to China Michael Clauss told China Daily in an interview ahead of the visit.
As German Chancellor Angela Merkel learned to cook the traditional Chinese dish kung pao chicken (spicy diced chicken with peanuts) during her visit to China in July, "the culturally fascinating city" of Berlin will offer Li "something unique, something other than football or beer", said the ambassador.
The level of China-Germany relations has also been unique this year, with unusually frequent mutual visits by top leaders from both countries, a phenomenon the ambassador said was "unprecedented".
