In the seven-day National Day holiday that ended on Tuesday, 124 scenic areas nationwide received nearly 32 million visitors, up 3.8 percent over the same period last year. The income from the entrance tickets to the scenic areas monitored by the National Tourism Administration surpassed 1.6 billion yuan ($261 million), down 2.43 percent over the same period last year, according to the administration's website.
