Favorable policies will be created to help migrants of ethnic groups to adapt easily to life in cities, according to a statement released after a national conference on ethnic affairs on Monday.
"China has zero tolerance for discrimination against ethnic groups, and more efforts should be made to build favorable communities in cities for these people to fit in the environment," the statement said.
A large number of ethnic people who once lived in remote and mountainous areas, where development was hindered by natural and historical problems, have migrated to cities for job opportunities.
