Media urged to help stop two countries' relations from getting any worse

By Xing Zhigang in Tokyo | China Daily | Updated: 2014-09-29 07:34

Media professionals in China and Japan were called upon to provide a more balanced and objective view of each other's country to help prevent Sino-Japanese relations from deteriorating. The call came at a panel discussion at the ongoing Beijing-Tokyo Forum.

Participants at the forum called for the media of both sides to "present a more balanced and objective image" to help dispel misunderstandings among the people of each country.

Air pollution topped the list of concerns for the Japanese public for the first time since 2005, according to the 10th Public Opinion on China-Japan Relations 2014 survey, co-sponsored by China Daily and the Japanese nonprofit think tank Genron NPO.
