The China Banking Regulatory Commission recently approved Bank of China to adopt new regulatory rules of Basel III, the global, voluntary standards on bank capital adequacy, stress testing and market liquidity risk.

It is an acknowledgement of BOC's efforts over the past eight years to meet requirements in the capital accord.

BOC has taken the initiative to implement the new rules of Basel III and will further improve its overall risk management and the ability to serve the real economy, said bank managers.
