99 billion yuan

Nearly 99 billion yuan ($16 billion) was donated from domestically and overseas last year, according to a report released by China Charity & Donation Information Center, overseen by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The report said 98.9 billion yuan was received last year, 21.06 percent more than in 2012. China's charity contribution rose after falling for two years, in which cash accounted for 65.1 billion yuan while materials were worth about 33.8 billion yuan. Enterprises contributed nearly 70 percent of the donations.
