Company Special: Elevator producer speeds up as China market lifts off

US elevator producer Otis is speeding up its development in China to meet the country's fast growing demand for elevators, according to a senior company executive.
"China has outpaced the US as the world's largest market for elevator companies," said President of Otis China area Perry Zheng.
"Some 600,000 elevators are installed in China each year while the figure in the US is merely 20,000 or so."
