Location: Gujarat is in western India, on the coast of the Arabian Sea, and shares a border with Pakistan. The state covers an area of 196,024 square km, and has a population of 60.38 million.

Air travel: Daily flights connect Ahmedabad, Gujarat's largest city, to other major Indian centers such as Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, and Chennai. It has one international airport, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Highways and railways: Approximately 72,165 km of roads, which provide good access to the rest of India. Three major railway routes carry both goods and passengers to India's main cities.
