Island's attractions appeal to Chinese

As more and more Chinese learn of the attractions of Sri Lanka, such as scenery and diverse cultures, many are visiting the country.

Last year, the number of Chinese visitors to Sri Lanka reached 54,288, an increase of 96.5 percent compared with 2012, according to the Sri Lanka embassy.

In the first seven months of this year, 67,408 Chinese tourists have visited Sri Lanka, and the number is expected to reach more than 100,000 by the end of the year.
