Capital's museums preserve China's past

Exhibitions retell nation's forgotten stories and culture, Su Zhou reports.

Beijing, as one of the four ancient capitals of China, has a history of more than 3,000 years. In the past 30 years, the city has developed with astonishing speed and has left much of its history behind.

Modern skyscrapers make it easy to forget how much history Beijing has, but during the nation's lifetime no other city has been the political, economic and cultural center for so long.
