For more than 200 years, Kleinwort Benson has offered wealth management and merchant banking services to international private clients, families, business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as pension funds, endowments and charities.

In 1786, Hinrich Kleinwort, a 24-year old German, set up a partnership to finance trade with England. In the same year, Robert Benson joined a partnership to form Rathbone & Benson, a Liverpool-based company trading with America. These two great banking dynasties merged to form Kleinwort Benson in 1961.
