Farmer and child drown in reservoir

A 58-year-old farmer in Linzhou drowned when he tried in vain to rescue a child after saving two others at a reservoir, Dahe Daily reported on Wednesday. Shen Yongchang was told by his granddaughter on Saturday that the children had fallen into the reservoir. After saving two of them from the water, an exhausted Shen attempted to rescue the third, but both drowned.
