Investors and opportunities to be matched at trade fair

Amid the backdrop of a new dynamic in the global economy, the 18th China International Fair for Investment and Trade kicks off on Monday in Xiamen, Fujian province, sharing information on changing policies and trends while continuing its long tradition of effectively promoting two-way investment, organizers said.

The fair will also explore opportunities related to the Silk Road Economic Belt proposed by President Xi Jinping last year.

With the slogan "One Belt, One Road", the modern trade route will be the focus of specialized exhibition areas for Central and Eastern European countries.

As well, investment promotion workshops will further explore cooperation between Chinese companies and those in Central and Eastern Europe.

This year's CIFIT covers 100,000 square meters, hosting 4,400 standard booths and up 12 specialized exhibition areas including pavilions for investment and promotion of industries.

Overseas government departments, organizations and companies from 54 countries and regions have taken exhibition space totaling 11,000 sq m.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia, which will be the guest country of honor at this year's fair. As a result, Malaysia will have a delegation of 500 members from various companies and levels of government.

As well, some 932 organizations from 110 countries and regions have confirmed they will participate in this year's CIFIT, including 665 overseas groups, 267 from China and nine international bodies.

More than 1,500 domestic State-owned enterprises and private companies are also set for the fair.

Organizers said the 18th CIFIT continues the emphasis on meeting the demands of exhibitors first with high-quality services while integrating exhibitions, symposiums and investment matchmaking to create a "three-in-one" event.

This year's CIFIT will offer 32,000 investment opportunities including 11,300 new projects. More than 1,000 overseas projects will be among those promoted.

In addition, the fair has organized almost 200 investment matchmaking activities.

More than 30 business matchmaking conferences will introduce 2,000 quality projects in top investment industries such as communication technology, infrastructure and equipment manufacturing.

Organizers have also arranged more than 100 exhibitions and tailored business matchmaking activities for the 16 Chinese provinces, regions and municipalities participating in the fair.
