Delegates carry message of modernity to CIFIT

Xiang'an district in Xiamen, Fujian province has always been a big winner at the China International Fair for Investment and Trade in the past years and it aims to lure more investors this year.

According to its Investment and Promotion Bureau, the district is expected to sign a total of 22 investment projects at the CIFIT this year, involving 27.67 billion yuan ($ 4.5 billion).

The programs, ranging from advanced manufacturing to modern service industry, feature a lot of new and financially sound investors.

Advanced manufacturing and high-end service industries now serve as the district's priority.

New and financially sound investors have emerged. For instance, the partner of the district's connector program is reportedly the largest connector manufacturer in the world.

The practice of investment attraction also features diversified platforms and wide-ranging industries.

Based on the business carriers such as the business operation center for the central Xiang'an New Town, a wide spectrum of good programs have largely contributed to the local industrial transformation.

Xiang'an has invited more than 26 groups from the leading enterprises in the emerging industries, such as optoelectronics and new energy, to participate in the CIFIT.

The bureau will strive for the signing of the major programs in negotiation, as well as invite more influential enterprises and interested investors to the fair.

Guided by the unified deployment by the authorities of both Xiamen city and Xiang'an district, together with support from other departments, the bureau has begun preparatory work for this year's China International Fair for Investment and Trade in an organized manner.

Chen Yongyu, Party chief of Xiang'an, Huang Fenqiang, the district's top legislator, and Lin Jinsheng, chief of the district's political advisory body are the consultants to Xiang'an's delegation to this year's CIFIT.

And the delegation will be headed by Chen Feiming, chief of the district government. Affiliated groups including the secretary group, trade and investment group, and press group will serve the delegation at the fair.

According to the bureau, some 10 projects from advanced manufacturing and business service industries, involving a total of 1.66 billion yuan, will start laying the foundation or commencing construction during the CIFIC period this year. While at the same time, some 18 projects, which are related to prioritized industries such as optoelectronics and involve 1.9 billion yuan in total, will start operation.

The bureau and its delegation are to promote Xiang'an's well-improved public infrastructure, environment, and investment opportunities during the CIFIT, local officials said.
