The number of people smuggled into foreign countries over two years by a gang of 13 who made 30 million yuan ($4.89 million) by providing fake visas and 100 passports. They smuggled the people through routes from Hong Kong, Beijing and Guangzhou to Brazil, Costa Rica and Panama. Each person had to pay more than 10,000 yuan ($1,620), Yangcheng Evening News reported on Thursday. The gang members have been detained by police.
