Holdups bring pilots turbulence

Senior pilots have spoken of the extra burden they face when flights are delayed or diverted by summer thunderstorms.

Their concerns come after many night flights were disrupted or cancelled by a heavy storm in Beijing on Monday.

A senior captain at a State-owned airline, using the alias Zhang Jun as he does not want to be named because of company policy, said he becomes anxious in summer when storms frequently lead to delays.
