Amending the patent law

China Daily | Updated: 2014-09-03 07:25

Lawmakers are considering new amendments to the nation's patent law, Wang Yanhong, policy advisor of Law and Treaty Department at the State Intellectual Property Office, told the UK-China IP Symposium on Monday.

Unlike the previous three revisions of the law, which were all a change in overall structure, this time there will be amendments to address specific issues in the law that have long concerned owners of intellectual property, Wang said.

Those include difficulties in rights to collect evidence, prolonged processing periods in IP cases and insufficient compensation.
