By Xinhua | China Daily | Updated: 2014-08-27 06:58

Prosecutors in Jilin province have placed two senior executives of a joint-venture carmaker under investigation, according to China's top disciplinary watchdog on Tuesday.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China did not specify what crimes the two senior executives are suspected of having committed.

Li Wu, former deputy general manager of FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co in Changchun, Jilin province, and Zhou Chun, deputy general manager of the carmaker's Audi sales department, are being investigated for suspected "serious violations of laws", the commission said in a statement. Li is the former general manager of the FAW-Volkswagen's sales department.
