Heavy vehicle sales may hit a rough path

Sales of heavy trucks in China increased slightly in July despite the market's lackluster performance.

Statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed 50,600 heavy trucks were sold, a 3.59 percent increase from the previous month that brought total sales in the first seven months to nearly 480,000 units.

Consulting firm Roland Berger predicted the segment would not see a big rise this year.
