One hundred and five Chinese officers and soldiers left Ji'nan, Shandong province, on Tuesday for Darfur, in western Sudan, on a peacekeeping mission. The Chinese team will build airports, bridges and roads, and provide medical aid for residents. The team has been trained in the English language and about UN peacekeeping regulations and local customs. A second group of 120 soldiers and officers will travel to Darfur on Aug 27.
