Snoozing controllers delay landing of jet

China Eastern Airlines flight MU2528 from Sanya was forced to delay landing after two air traffic controllers fell asleep on July 8, according to a statement issued by civil aviation authorities last month that was made public by media reports on Tuesday. The Boeing 737 was preparing to land at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport but had no response from the air traffic control tower for 12 minutes. Contact was eventually made and the aircraft landed safely.
