Barca bids for Sao Paulo defender

Barcelona has submitted a 6 million euro ($8.03 million) bid for Sao Paulo defender Douglas, local media reported on Saturday. The 24-year-old is seen as a candidate to fill the rightback spot of compatriot Daniel Alves, who the Blaugrana want to sell, the Terra news portal said. Douglas has made 131 first-team appearances for Sao Paulo since arriving from Goias in 2012.
