Top riders ready for Tour of China
The Tour of China road cycling race pushes off on Aug 30 in Xi'an and will wind up 16 days later in Tianjin on Sept 14. The 13-stage event will attract riders representing 22 pro teams, 11 from Europe, nine from Asia and two from the Americas, including the 2012 champion team Christina Watches-Onfone of Denmark and ASC Dukla Praha Team of Czech Republic. The 15,000-plus kilometer race was first held in 2010 and each year starts in Xi'an and ends in Tianjin. The race is sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a 2.1 category race as part of the UCI Asia Tour.
